One of the most beautiful and interesting lines of eyewear I saw at MIDO for the first time in person was Pugnale Eyewear out of Udine, Italy. Emanuel Pugnale, who has a long history with precision metal working machinery, founded this line in 2013 and the resulting products and designs are well worth a look. Combining innovative techniques and materials, Pugnale has created a wonderful Italian line of eyewear. Industrial laminates become elegant surfaces: metal is combined with fabrics and precious materials for contemporary and exclusive luxury. Emanuel’s passion for creativity is evident in every piece of this collection. When you look and feel these styles you will know this is a frame line worth looking at too.
Here are just two examples of what I saw:
Cattivissima. A waterfall of sequins and sequined comes in and out of two holes framed by precious ceramic rings, creating a precious and original sunglass.
Cindy. Round-shaped sunglasses made in acetate with titanium side arms.
